Cultivating the world’s finest quinoa
13,000 feet up on the arid, desolate Salar De Uyuni salt flat of Bolivia, traditional Quechua and Aymara farmers tend to fields of highly coveted “quinoa real,” or royal quinoa, an ancient variety grown only in this very spot. This pearl-shaped, nearly perfect nutrition source was so revered by the Incas that they called it “chisaya mama” or “mother grain.” When you taste our fluffy, flavorful Royal Pearl Quinoa, you’ll understand why.

1 cup quinoa + 1 ½ cups liquid = 4 servings
Rinse quinoa under cold water until water runs clear. Place quinoa and water or stock in a medium saucepan.
Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, cover and cook until liquid is absorbed and germ has spiraled out, about 15 minutes.
Flavor tip: Before adding liquid, sauté quinoa in pan with a dash of olive oil until slightly toasted, about five minutes.

I have ordered this product several times. This product is a good tasting quinoa at a decent price. The quinoa always tastes fresh and cooks up well. I also trust the brand, Equal Exchange. I appreciate that they source products from community co-ops and offer their products at good prices. I will order this product again.
As a vegetarian protein is hard to come by, but Quinoa helps me get what I need. There is a cheaper one from Now Foods, and this one tastes just the same at that one.
This is the BEST Quinoa

Alter Eco Quinoa cooks up perfectly every time! Flavor is amazing and it fluffs up just right. Cheaper Quinoa gets mushy or sticky, and has an off flavor. I cook it it using two cups of Quinoa to three cups of water. Rinse Quinoa first, sitting in the water for about a minute. Bring water to a boil, add Quinoa and a pinch of salt. Cook for 20 minutes, then fluff with fork immediately, leave pot covered, fluff up again after ten minutes. Make a big batch. It keeps in the fridge five days. Add some to your oatmeal, or mix with steamed veggies. This Quinoa rocks!

Love quinoa. Have purchased quinoa from Alter Eco several times and have so far always been happy with the quality of their products.
Very good quinoa!

Very impressed by the quality of this. I always rinse my quinoa before cooking it to get rid of some of the "dirt" taste... didn't rinse these once and still tasted like quinoa - without the "dirt"! Will repurchase!
Nice Nutty Smell and Good Taste

This is my 2nd purchase. The quality is good but price is a little expensive for everyday use. I mixed with brown rice to make it more economical.
