- Alvita. Natural Herb Teas that are Good for You and the Environment
For more than 75 years, long before it became fashionable, Alvita was championing the profound health-giving properties of herbal teas. We travel to the far reaches of the globe for the finest herbs, the best growers, the most precious sources.
Small wonder that so many consumers trust the Alvita name. Today, it stands for more than 100 different teas, including classic single herb varieties, and our unique Alvita blends. The package you hold in your hand combines ancient herbal wisdom with modern science, and brings to you all the richness and benefits of herbal teas. This philosophy is the very reason why you will find sensible, English pillow style tea bags that are oxygen bleached, not chlorine treated. And why you won't find any strings, tags or staples.
We thank you for choosing our product, but more importantly, we thank you for the trust you've put in the herbal values that we all share.
Rose Hips (Rosa canina), the fruit of the rose after the flower has bloomed and the petals have fallen, are native to Europe and North America. Rose Hips were once referred to as "Food of the Gods" by the ancient Greeks and used for their varied health benefits. During World War II, when faced with a serious shortage of fresh fruits, the governments of England, Sweden and Norway began looking to botanicals. They discovered that Rose Hips were an excellent food source. Because of their abundance, they were used in teas, soups, purees, etc. Rose Hips are still used today as a favorite nutritious food, often brewed into a delicate, fruity tea.
The best way to make a good cup of tea is by the infusion method. Place one tea bag in a cup and add no more than 6 oz of boiling water. Let steep for 3 minutes. Press the bag before removing to enhance the flavor.
Add honey to sweeten.
Rosehips have a huge amount of vitamin C and flavonoids and are purported to be extremely healthy. This brand is a very intense-colored tea that tastes just delicious. Very fruity. A nice treat, and healthy, too!

Pure, but Blah

I read several reviews and thought this might be a nice tasting tea. For the purest tastes out there, maybe. I thought the tea was blah and had to use several bags to make the tea strong enough. Love the purity though. Just not for me.

Always relaxing to drink rose hips.
Won't buy again

Worst rose hip tea I've ever tasted! Real rose hip tea should be deep red, this was just mildly reddish brown and there actually wasn't taste at all. I've drank rose hip tea over 20 years now, and even the cheapest un-organic teas in our local market taste better than this.
Alvita Rose Hip Tea - finally a real rose hip tea

My husband has wanted rose hip tea. Not tea that had SOME rose hips, but actual, pure rose hip tea he remembered from childhood (he actually made it then). Alvita was the only tea made with rose hips and not with other teas and some rose hips. He tried it and was thrilled. Tasted just as he remembered it from child hood with REAL rose hips. Now we know where to go for the real thing in almost all herbal teas. :)
