To the ancients, including the Arabians, Sage (Salvia officinalis) was associated with longevity and was highly prized. The genus name derives from the Latin for "salvation". In early Dutch trading days, the Chinese preferred Sage tea over their own native tea, and gave traders up to four times the quantity of their choicest tea in exchange. The American Indians used it both topically and internally for its health benefits. Sage is often used today as a spice for flavoring vegetables, chicken, meats, fish and eggs. It can be sweetened with maple syrup, brown sugar or honey, or flavored with a squeeze of orange, lemon or a dash of cinnamon.
For more than 75 years, long before it became fashionable, Alvita was championing the profound health-giving properties of herbal teas. We travel to the far reaches of the globe for the finest herbs, the best growers, the most precious sources.
Small wonder that so many consumers trust the Alvita name. Today, it stands for more than 100 different teas, including classic single herb varieties, and our unique Alvita blends. The package you hold in your hand combines ancient herbal wisdom with modern traditional science, and brings to you all the richness and benefits of herbal teas. This philosophy is the very reason why you will find sensible, English pillow style tea bags that are oxygen bleached, not chlorine treated. And why you won't find any strings, tags or staples.
We thank you for choosing our product, but more importantly, we thank you for the trust you've put in the herbal values that we all share.
Alvita. Natural Herb Teas That Are Good For You And The Environment.
The best way to make a good cup of tea is by the infusion method. Place one tea bag in a cup and add no more than 6 oz. of boiling water. Let steep for 3 minutes. Press the bag before removing to enhance the flavor. Add honey to sweeten.
iHerb Customer Reviews
I brew up the whole box and steep overnight into a really strong tea. I use this on my (brown) hair. Use it daily to take the edge off those greys! Also, gives my pin straight hair awesome shine and great texture! PS- After washing the hair, it's an awesome rinse! Great for drinking too, I guess! LOL
I have used the Alvita Tea bags previously to alleviate cold symptoms - especially after flying and inhaling that confined air. I usually try to find locally at much inconvenience and greater expense. So iHerb.com is an absolute delight! Fast, efficient and cost effective. THANKS!

This sage tea was very nice. You have to add in a bit more water if not the the taste would be too strong. The packaging was great but it came squashed in the mail though. I have heard a lot of benefits of sage tea like helping with menstrual cramps, hot flashes , helps with sleeping and many more. My objective to buy it was because it could help with excessive sweating, but there isn't much change but slowly and surely the sage tea will help.
The normal kind of Sage tea

This sage tea is amazing. I have hyperhydrosis (sweaty palms/feet) and this works wonders. I also take a Chinese supplement called Rehmannia Six Combination for the hyperhydrosis that iHerb also sells and the two works well together for me.
