The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.
The Shipping Weight includes the product, protective packaging material and the actual shipping box. In addition, the Shipping Weight may be adjusted for the Dimensional Weight (e.g. length, width & height) of a package. It is important to note that certain types of products (e.g. glass containers, liquids, fragile, refrigerated or ice packed) will often require protective packaging material. As such, these products will reflect a higher Shipping Weight compared to the unprotected product.

Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookie
When Amy was little her grandmother used to bake cookies made from simple organic ingredients...wheat flour, sugar and butter. Then the two of them would happily munch on their cookies and drink peppermint tea. Sometimes chocolate bits or chopped almonds would be added to the basic recipe. Amy grew up eating those cookies and still would like to enjoy them.
However, like many people nowadays, Amy doesn't eat wheat, so our chefs tried out a gluten free version of the classic shortbread cookie, replacing wheat with almond flour.
The results were amazing. Each person, whether "gluten intolerant" or not, who ate these cookies was delighted, so we decided to go ahead and offer these gluten free cookies to you.
After the birth of our daughter Amy in 1987 we found there was little time to prepare the wholesome nutritious food we normally ate. Realizing there were others like ourselves, we set up Amy's Kitchen to produce delicious, nourishing frozen meals for health-conscious people too busy to cook.
We use only the finest natural and organic ingredients and prepare them with the same careful attention in our kitchen as you would in your own home. No meat, fish, shellfish, poultry, eggs and peanuts are ever used in any Amy's products.
Organic almond flour, grade AA butter (cream, salt, annatto), organic whole grain brown rice flour, organic evaporated cane juice, organic dark chocolate* (organic cacao beans, organic evaporated cane juice, organic cocoa butter, organic soy lecithin).
*Made in grinding mills that also make milk chocolate.
Contains milk, soy and tree nuts (almonds).
Individuals with Food Allergies: This product is made in a facility that processes foods containing wheat, soy, tree nuts and seeds. Amy's Kitchen does not use any peanuts, fish, shellfish or eggs.

iHerb Customer Reviews
These cookies are deeeeelicious! Many Gluten Free cookies are dense, these are like real shortbread cookies, not too hard & not chewy soft. The only downside is the cookies didnt stand a chance in shipping. The ENTIRE box arrived in tiny crumbs...it looks like a box of bread crumbs, there was nothing left to pick up with your fingers besides the chocolate chips. Unfortunately I had to eat it with a spoon! :) On the bright side, it was very tasty!!!!!!!! I cant see myself ordering online, spending over $5 for cookie crumbs, I wish I could find these locally.
Unlike most gluten free cookies that tend to be like small, dense cakes, these are tender and wonderfully cookie-like. They aren't hard and crunchy, and are not soft or doughy either. They actually break rather easily and many of them were broken when I opened the box. I didn't mind though, because the flavor is so good I happily dumped the crumbs into my mouth. These cookies are made with organic almond flour, so there's a bit of nutrition from the almonds rather than the empty calories of refined white flour. You don't really feel like your eating ground up nuts though. The cookies are very easy to eat and the flavor is tasty! I actually like these over most normal chocolate chip cookies! The sweetness seems just right to me, not cloying or overpowering. I find Pamela's gluten free cookies to be way too sweet, but Amy's seem to strike the right balance. I think I will try the regular shortbread cookies next.
