Organic Maple Buckwheat Flakes, the "Olde-Time Cereal". This low fat and cholesterol free lightly sweetened whole grain cereal is reminiscent of grandma's buckwheat pancakes covered with maple syrup. Now it's easy to taste that wholesome goodness when you start each day with these deliciously crunchy toasted buckwheat flakes.
Maple Buckwheat Trail Mix
Level of Preparation: Easy
Total Prep Time: 25 Minutes
1/3 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups Arrowhead Mills Organic Maple Buckwheat Flakes
2 cups Arrowhead Mills Puffed Rice
1/3 cup dried cranberries
1/3 cup chopped pecans (or other nut)
Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix pineapple juice, honey and vanilla in a small sauce pan, and boil gently over medium heat for 10 minutes. In a medium bowl, thoroughly blend all remaining ingredients. Spread cereal mixture on a lightly oiled 9" x 13" baking pan. Pour juice/honey mixture over cereal, stirring well to coat.
Bake for 10-15 minutes, stirring several times while cooking. Cool completely before serving.
Organic whole grain buckwheat grits, organic whole grain brown rice flour, organic evaporated cane juice, organic whole grain buckwheat flour, organic maple syrup, sea salt, organic honey, ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and natural vitamin E (to preserve freshness).
