Audubon Premium Shade Grown Coffee is made exclusively from carefully selected Arabica beans cultivated by traditional farmers in the most well renowned coffee regions of the world. These exceptional farmers use traditional production techniques in order to grow their beans as nature intended - under a lush canopy of tropical trees, home to hundreds of bird species such as migratory warblers and resident rainforest wildlife.
In an effort to boost production, many coffee farmer shave switched to full sun farming, destroying native shade trees, leaving only a monoculture of trees and little possibility for wildlife habitation. Audubon Shade Grown Premium Coffees are grown in harmony with nature, without pesticides, and with fair treatment and conditions for workers.
Protected from rain and sun by the forest canopy, these coffee beans mature slowly and naturally bathed by gentle mists and filtered sunlight, accompanied by birdsong and butterflies, while absorbing the flavors of the rainforest. Grinding Whole Bean
Start with just enough beans for one pot of coffee. Use 1-2 level tablespoons of ground coffee for every 6 ounces of water. Courser grounds make milder coffee. Finer grounds make stronger coffee. If ground too fine, the coffee can taste bitter.
Use the Right Equipment
For best results, use a French press or automatic drip coffee maker with the appropriate size filter. Water is an important ingredient in a good cup of coffee, so always start with fresh, cold water. For best flavor, use bottled or filtered water.
Preserve the Flavor
To keep that fresh brewed flavor, promptly transfer your perfect pot of coffee into a thermos or carafe.

Coffee I got looks out over burned, has very black color and very easy breakable. It smells not as a natural coffee, but something like it has burned out. Maybe I was unlucky with this item.

I am on my third package now but am getting tired of the bitterness. I now blend thhis with a milder bean but I am looking for an alternative that has the dark roast flavor but is les harsh.
Coffee is just too over-burned!

Beans are very dark and easy to break, looks that they are just overburned and doesn't taste well... Very disapointed....

I love french roast and darker roast in general. This coffee is smooth and easy to drink but it just tastes burnt. I like darker roast because I think they are more flavorful but this coffee tastes a little too burnt.
