My finely ground 100% Whole Wheat Flour is milled from high protein U.S. Number 1 hard red wheat. It is absolutely the most nutritious, finest baking flour available anywhere! Use it for breads and in other recipes that call for yeast as a rising agent.

Suggested Use

100% Whole Wheat Bread for Bread Machines

Many people prefer a hearty loaf of 100% whole wheat bread. Especially when the main ingredient is 100% stone ground, high protein, hard red wheat flour. Quite simply, there is no flour better for bread baking than this flour from Bob's Red Mill Natural Foods. The bran, germ and fiber blend with the endosperm to make a bread of true integrity. Here is Bob's favorite recipe:

Small Loaf (1 lb) Ingredients Large Loaf (1/1/2 lb)
1 cup Water 1-1/2 cups + 2 Tbsp
2-1/2 cups Whole Wheat Flour 3-3/4 cups
1 1/4 Tbsp Dry Milk Powder 2 Tbsp
1 tsp Salt 1-1/2 tsp
1-1/2 Tbsp Canola Oil 2 Tbsp
1-1/4 Tbsp Sugar 2 Tbsp
1 Tbsp Gluten 1-1/2 Tbsp
2 tsp Molasses 1 Tbsp
2 tsp Active Dry Yeast 3 tsp

Add all ingredients in the order suggested by your bread machine manual and process on the basic bread cycle according to the manufacturer's directions. Let the loaf cool for 15 minutes before slicing.

Other Ingredients

Whole grain hard red spring wheat.

Manufactured in a facility that also uses tree nuts, soy, wheat and milk.

This flour is made from red wheat berries, which supposedly have a higher protein content vis-a-vis white wheat berries. It is also stone-ground rather than machine processed, which means that it is purported to have higher nutritional value. What makes this wheat flour great, though, is that it makes a smooth crumb that is perfect in whole grain bread baking and easy to knead as well. Delicious!

Use this to make bread, wraps and basically replacing my white flour wherever I can. Whole Wheat is just much more healthy diet option and this one has fine grounded flour, you will not find chuncks in it and the texture is very smooth compare to others that I have tried before from my local organic store. Will keep buying this one!
