Whole Wheat Scones
1 ½ cups Whole Wheat Flour
1½ cup (toasted) Wheat Germ
1/3 cup Sugar
2 tsp. Baking Powder
1 ½ tsp. Cinnamon
½ tsp. ground Nutmeg
½ tsp. Sea Salt
½ cup Cold Butter
1 large Egg
½ cup Buttermilk
½ cup Bob's Red Mill Currants
Preheat oven to 375°. Use an ungreased 10" x 15" baking pan. In a bowl, combine whole wheat flour, wheat germ, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. With 2 knives or a pastry blender, cut in butter until coarse crumbs form. In a small bowl, beat egg with buttermilk to blend. I originally just ordered these because I didn't know what black currants were. I use them in bread now, instead of raisins, it just tastes much better to me and they're smaller than raisins so they wind up more evenly distributed, making every bite more delicious.
Delicious, soft and sweet

This tiny raisins are ideal for baking--scones, cookies, Welsh cakes, cakes, poundcakes, everything you can think of may benefit from this tasty little dudes. Sweet, with a hint of tart, they pair incredibly well with a lot of flavours, and they are soft enough to eat by the handful. Delicious!
