Suggested Use

Keeps best refrigerated or frozen

Cherry Scones

2 cups Bob's Red Mill Unbleached White Flour

1/3 cup Turbinado Sugar

2 tsp. Baking Powder

1/4 tsp. Sea Salt

1/3 cup Butter, chilled, cut into pieces

1 Egg

1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

1 tsp. Almont Extract

1 cup Bob's Red Mill Dried Cherries

Egg wash: 1 egg and 1 teaspoon water, beaten.

Preheat over: 325°. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter with pastry blender. Combine wet ingredients and mix into dry just until moistened. Add cherries. Best ever!

I have tried a lot of dried cherries, from a lot of well-respected sellers. These are, hands-down, the best I have come across. They are plump, tender and not all squashed or beat-up looking like some I've had. Excellent for baking, topping cereal, or just eating out of the bag. And they may help my arthritis!!

Dried cherries

+ juicy - very oily - too sweet - bergin's ones are much better tasting as a snack but these can be ok for cooking/baking

Good cherries

I probably would prefer them a bit more tart, but I think its just me. They're nice and fresh and seem like really good quality though.
