Dear Customers, Bob's Red Mill Flaxseed Meal has a robust nutty flavor and tastes really great! Two tablespoons added to your cold or hot cereal, pancakes and waffles or baked into your breads, muffins and quick breads bring you the amazing nutritional benefits of omega-3, lignans and dietary fiber. This opaque packaging material preserves the healthful omega-3 fats which are an essential parts of our diets. One serving of flaxseed meal contains 2400 milligrams of omega-3 fatty acids.
Bob's Red Mill products labeled Gluten Free are batch tested in our quality control laboratory. We use an ELISA Gluten Assay test to determine if a product is gluten free.
Diets rich in whole grain foods and other plant foods low in total fat, saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease and some cancers.

Bran Flax Muffins
- 1-1/2 cups Unbleached White Flour
- 3/4 cup Bob's Red Mill Flaxseed Meal
- 3/4 cup Oat Bran
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1-1/2 cups Carrots, shredded
- 2 Apples, peeled and shredded
- 1/2 cup Raisins (optional)
- 1 cup Nuts, chopped
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 2 Eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp Vanilla
Mix together flour, Bob's Red Mill Flaxseed Meal, oat bran, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in a large bowl. Stir in carrots, apples, raisins (if desired) and nuts. Combine milk, beaten eggs and vanilla. Pour liquid ingredients into dry ingredients. Stir until ingredients are moistened. Do not over mix. Fill muffin cups 3/4 full. Bake at 350ºF for 15-20 minutes. Yield 15 medium muffins.

I've been taking this product for a long time and it really helps lower my cholesterol which is high through genetics. I don't like taking statins at all and this along with pantothene is doing a great job...
I add two TBS to morning oatmeal. Great way to add healthy fiber. Keep in fridge after opening.

I really enjoyed making low-carb muffins with this. Flaxseed is very high in healthy fats, fibre and protein. The meal was fresh, and for such an economical price, I can't complain!

Mix it into bread and cereal, and I like the texture it provides.

Sprinkle a tablespon over my cereal or yogurt every morning to give me my omega-3's, lignans, and fiber. I use the meal over the whole seed because it's easier for my stomach to digest. Highly recommend
