To make a loaf of Irish Soda Bread- to entire package of mix add 1 1/4 cup water, 1/3 cup oil and 1 egg. Mix just until blended. Turn out on floured surface. With well floured hands form dough into a ball. Pat out on lightly greased pie pan so loaf is about 8" in diameter and 1 1/2" high. Slash with sharp knife to make a cross on top. Bake at 375° for 40-45 minutes. May bake in 9" x 5" loaf pan. Good hot or cold. Try adding 1 cup of raisins, currants, or chopped dates to dry ingredients. Now, enjoy dipping a piece of the finest bread you've ever made in a hearty bowl of Irish Stew.
Keep best refrigerated or frozen.
Enriched flour (wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, iron, thiamin, riboflavin, folic acid), whole wheat farina, cane sugar, buttermilk powder (milk), wheat germ, acid whey (milk), wheat bran, baking soda, baking powder (sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate, corn starch and monocalcium phosphate) and sea salt (magnesium carbonate).
