  • Whole Grain
  • Kamut Brand Khorasan Wheat
  • USDA Organic
  • Certified Organic by QAI

Bob's Red Mill Organic Kamut Cereal is carefully milled from plump, golden Kamut Khorasan wheat. Kamut grain is an ancient relative of modern durum wheat that's two to three times the size of common wheat. It has a rich, buttery flavor and is easily digested. It's also a good source of protein and dietary fiber.

Diets rich in whole grain foods and other plant foods low in total fat, saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease and some cancers.

Milled from genuine Kamut Grain, a granular hot cereal, high in fiber.

Suggested Use

Keeps best refrigerated or frozen

For a nutritious high fiber hot breakfast cereal with an inherent natural sweetness, bring 3 cups water and 1/2 teaspoon salt to a boil. Add 1 cup Kamut Cereal and turn heat down. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes. Makes 2 1/2 cups. Serve with honey or brown sugar and milk. Add almost any fruit or nuts to increase your breakfast nutrition and pleasure.

Microwave Instructions:

In large bowl, combine 1/4 cup Bob's Red Mill Kamut Cereal and 3/4 cup water. Cover and microwave on high for 3 to 5 minutes. Let stand for 2 minutes. Makes 1 serving.

Other Ingredients

Great organic whole grain kamut cereal.
In addition to being very delicious and nutritious, this cereal milled from ancient Egypt's most revered grain, known as "King Tut's Wheat", is rich in dietary fiber, protein, amino acids, niacin, thiamin, vitamin B6, folic acid, riboflavin, manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, zinc, iron, potas sium, calcium, phytosterols and antioxidants, and beneficial for people suffering from diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, obesity, cardiovascular conditions, heart disease, gastritis, acid reflux, nausea, indigestion, osteoporosis, arthritis, rheumatism, acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, as well as many other skin conditions, and even cancer: it helps stabilize blood sugar and regulate insulin levels, prevents blood spikes keeping you full longer, flushes toxins out of the body, aids digestion, prevents heartburn and acid reflux, increases appetite, soothes the stomach lining, reduces colon inflammation, normalizes blood pressure, lowers triglycerides and LDL or "bad" cholesterol levels while increasing HDL or "good" cholesterol, protects against strokes, atherosclerosis and peripheral arterial disease, boosts and strengthens the immune system, neutralizes free radicals, improves brain function, helps maintain healthy bones, teeth, joints, skin, nails, and hair, and even reduces the risk of cancer, not to mention that it's great in different recipes. I love this organic kamut cereal: it's really delicious and helps normalize my cholesterol levels and blood pressure and relieves the symptoms of my acid reflux and gastritis. It's a great product and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to have a healthier diet.

Terrific!

I really liked this. It cooked so easily and quickly. Contrary to the other reviews I did have not tried this as a breakfast cereal. The consistency reminds me of rice so I ate it as such, and it was great! I cooked it with a sprinkling of buckwheat groats and seasoned it with Braggs liquid amino acids and it was terrific. You can eat this as a substitute for rice sometimes or as a chewy breakfast which I am trying next. Will order again.

Fabulous!

Posted by 5505409502558561242 on Feb 04, 2015

I recently had to transition to a low oxalate diet, and kamut was one of the options. I'd never tried it before and I am hooked! I make mine with Silk unsweetened Coconut milk instead of water, then add Bob's Red Mill shredded coconut and just a little Coconut Torani syrup (with Splenda) - It's great warm or cold. I tried a bunch of different recipes, and my 5 year old is fond of kamut with brown sugar and cinnamon. It's easy to make, easy to flavor different ways, satisfying - and great as a breakfast or a dessert!! I'm so happy with this product and all the Bob's Red Mill products I have purchased! I've been telling everyone about them and iHerb.com. So happy I found this site!

Great Taste

Posted by Reviewer1878151 on Jan 23, 2016

It was sad for me to stop eating modern wheat cause of canker sores, but then I found out about ancient wheat that I didn't know. Now I eat Kamut and make bread with Einkorn wheat or Spelt wheat and no more canker sores.
