Flaxseed was eaten by the early Greeks and Romans like nuts. You may eat the natural untreated seeds whole, ground into meal, or sprouted. Used in small amounts, they add a crunchy quality when making muffins, waffles, pancakes, granola, or cooked cereals. When ground, Flaxseed Meal can be added to breads, muffins, hot cooked cereals and smoothies, and is one of the most powerful natural cholesterol controllers. One serving of flaxseed contains 3600 mg or omega-3 fatty acids.
Bob's Red Mill products labeled Gluten Free are batch tested in our quality control laboratory. We use an ELISA Gluten Assay test to determine if a product is gluten free.
Diets rich in whole grain foods and other plant foods low in total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease and some cancers.
Three Seed Bread
- 1 1/4 cups Water
- 2 Tbsp. Honey
- 2 Tbsp. Canola Oil
- 2 cups Bob's Red Mill Unbleached White Flour
- 1 cup Bob's Red Mill Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1/3 cup Bob's Red Mill Flaxseed
- 2 Tbsp. Sunflower Seeds
- 1 Tbsp. Poppy Seeds
- 2 tsp. Active Dry Yeast
Directions: Add ingredients to bread machine in the order recommended by the bread machine manufacturer and select the basic bread cycle. Let cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.

You may prefer to mill it.
