The Bob's Red Mill team went to Scotland to compete in the Olympics of oatmeal, the Annual Golden Spurtle World Porridge Making Championship. Make the World's Best Oatmeal at Home
This is exactly what we did to win in Scotland. It's simple. Bring 3 cups filtered water to a boil. Add 1/4 tsp salt and 1 cup Bob's Red Mill Steel Cut Oats. Reduce heat to a low simmer. Cover and cook for 10 (al dente) to 20 minutes (creamy). Stir every few minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for two minutes. Serves four hearty bowls; prepare for accolades.
- Serve with milk, cream or a pat of butter.
- Add brown sugar, honey or maple syrup for sweetness.
- Add fresh or dried fruit, raisins, nuts or a dash of cinnamon.

I really love this product! It's better than the rolled oats, because it makes oatmeal or bread much more chewier - which is a great plus for me. They're also less processed than the rolled, which does have an effect on your blood sugar levels. They're unfortunatly not a raw food, as most oats products is heated to get rid of the the outer shell. I soak these overnight before I use them - makes them much easier to cook or bake.

I soak the oatmeal over night with a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar it's good with walnuts honey and fruit.

Great full flavor. Nice texture and body when properly cooked. Great with oatmeal accoutrements like cinnamon, honey, etc.

I had been taking this product for breakfast every day. I would say given the nutrition information, this is a very healthy product. I will keep buying.

I cook these steel cut Oats ( 2 parts water to 1 part Oats seems to be a good mixture,) in a pressure cooker on high for 14 minutes , give it a stir, and then close the lid again for another 5-10 minutes.Add a pinch of salt and a Tbs. of Tumeric and a pinch of ground pepper, and just the thought of eating this every morning makes me feel healthy, plus it tastes good with a 1/2 frozen banana whizzed up with a little water in an blender to make Bananamilk. Sprinkle with cinnamon and say goodbye to your Doctor.
