Bob's Red Mill Organic Brown Rice Flour is carefully ground on cool and slow turning, century-old stone-buhr millstones. We use only the highest quality whole grain brown rice to produce a delicious flour with a mild, nutty flavor. Our wholesome Organic Brown Rice Flour is a favorite ingredient for gluten-free baking. It's also great as breading or for thickening soups, sauces and gravies.
Bob's Red Mill products labeled Gluten Free are batch tested in our quality control laboratory. We use an Elisa Gluten Assay test to determine if a product is gluten free.
- 1 cup Garbanzo Bean Flour
- 1-1/2 cups Brown Rice Flour
- 1/2 cup Potato Starch
- 1 tbsp. Xanthan Gum
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 2 Tbsp. Sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Active Dry Yeast
- 2 Eggs, room temperature
- 2 Tbsp. Vegetable Oil
- 1 tsp. Cider or White Vinegar
- 1 3/4 cups Water, warm
Bread Machine Instruction
In a large bowl mix together the flours, starch, xanthan gum, sugar and salt. In another bowl blend together the water, eggs, oil and vinegar. Add ingredients (including yeast) to the bread pan following the bread machine's instructions. Set controls for gluten free or basic white bread setting and press start. Finished loaf should be about 5 inches high. Makes 1 1/2 lb loaf.
Keeps best refrigerated or frozen.

I'm slowly changing my diet to include a lot of gluten-free recipes. This is one of the flours that I've been trying. This morning I made pancakes with the brown rice flour, and texturally, it came out fine. I'll have to get use to the taste of a lot of gluten-free flours, but this was the only flour I needed for my pancake recipe.

This flour is too expensive, but it often is the only one available on iherb.com I prefer other brands because of the price point.

I live overseas and have only had access to white rice flour. What a huge difference it makes in taste and density of the things I bake. Not to mention the health benefits.
