These dark green, lightly dappled lentils are prized for their peppery flavor and hearty texture. Because they hold their shape while cooking, Petite French Green Lentils are perfect for salads and pilafs. Each serving provides a wealth of fiber and iron.
I can remember learning about the glories of beans when I was a young lad in grammar school. Just before spring holiday, our teacher gave us glass jars filled with soil and a handful of brightly colored beans. I pressed those living seed into the dirt and when we returned a week later, we were astounded by the sight of the green shoots that had sproung forth. My sense of wonder with beans, their pleasant flavors and healthful bounty thrives on in my line of Heritage Beans.
Petite French Green Lentils are a favorite variety in France. They have a remarkably rich, distinctive flavor that is earthy and just a bi peppery. Unlike other kinds of lentils, these have a firm texture even after cooking, which makes them an ideal choice for everything from simple side dishes to sophisticated salads. It’s no wonder that they are a darling of chefs in France and around the world. I hope that you will delight in these gourmet legumes by cooking a hearty portion for you and yours.
