About Milk Thistle...
Native to southern and western Europe, Milk Thistle has made itself at home in North America and can be easily spotted with its prickly, glossy green leaves and reddish purple thistle-like flowers. The seed coat has the highest silymarin content - the active ingredient for which Milk Thistle is known.
Once Milk Thistle reaches maturity, it develops seed clusters which are scattered by the wind. For this tea, the seeds are harvested once ripe, but before they can blow away, then ground to make a delicious tea.
Many herbalists consider it beneficial to add a little bit of Peppermint to this tea.
It all starts with the herbs. Celebration Herbals is dedicated to bringing you the best tasting teas, grown and processed as close to "the way nature intended" as possible and never irradiated.

- Good water is an essential part of brewing a great cup of tea. We recommend using spring or filtered water.
- Be sure to relax! Some of the most enjoyable aspects of tea are the calmness and ritual that surround it.
- This is a delicate herb and is more potent when exposed to high temperatures for a short period of time. So that your tea has its maximum medicinal properties and flavor, be sure that your water is at a rolling boil when you pour it over your teabags.
- If you desire a medicinal tea, be sure to use one tea bag per cup of boiling water, cover and steep for 7-12 minutes. This is known as the infusion method.
- If you desire a pleasure tea or quick brew, use on teabag per cup of hot water. Pour water over teabags, cover, and let steep 3 to 5 minutes to taste. Enjoy!

iHerb Customer Reviews
Teas come in individual bags inside a zip-locked plastic bag. They have no string and no staple. Inside are some seeds. It's a bit hard to imagine that there's much that comes out of these hard seeds when making a tea. I have found this tea to be very mild in taste even if brewed longer. I've had excellent results from milk thistle caps to heal a fatty liver caused by acetaminophen, prescription steroids (hydrocortisone) and more recently safflower oil from mayo. I prefer this tea to the liquid extract which left the water oily and murky. Not so with this tea. I just don't know how effective it will be but my experience has been that herbal infusions (aka 'teas') having been more healing and faster remedies than anything else. Because of my liver disease, I get dangerously depleted in critical vitamins, minerals and other nutrients so I drink about 7 different teas per day, sometimes mixing them. I'm stocking up on this but because the flavor is so mild, I will continue with the caps. Perhaps the seeds need to be crushed before being bagged to release more nutrients. At any rate, I'm liking this company: this is one of the rare organic milk thistle in any form available on the market and, if you have liver disease like me, organic is critical due to being disabled by MCS.
A pleasant tasting tea. Even nicer when you add a couple of slices of fresh ginger
