Copaiba is a large legume native to South America, which can grow to heights up to 100 ft. The oleoresin (resin) is the part of the tree that is generally used medicinally. It was used traditionally for wounds, pain, skin problems and insect bites. Copaiba contains anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, which also may benefit disorders of the urinary tract, such as cystitis, bladder and kidney contagions.
