N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) acts as an antioxidant by scavenging harmful free radicals. In addition NAC is a cysteine precursor to the antioxidant, glutathione. As part of the cellular antioxidant defense system, glutathione plays a key role in cellular detoxification by neutralizing harmful free radicals.

While the capsules are vegetarian, what's inside really isn't. The NAC here is made from duck feathers, or so I was told by a representative at Country Life. I imagine this is why the product description does not actually say "vegetarian" (although it would be nice if they made this point clearer). NAC, perhaps other amino acids as well, is often made from things that do not fit with vegetarian or other dietary requirements (e.g., pig bristles, bird feathers, and it appears even human hair has been used), so it is very important to check that the product is indeed 100% vegetarian before ordering, as I wish I'd done here. I instead recommend the Solgar brand of NAC, which I've used before and know is 100% vegetarian. (I think Bluebonnet has vegetarian NAC as well, but I'm not familiar with it.)
Worked in conjunction with other herbs to treat bronchitis. Absolutely outstanding results, this product is more powerful than I can describe. My lungs feel better than I ever thought they would, and the damage from a year of smoking was almost immediately relieved. When you are coughing up tar, that tastes like tobacco, and you haven't smoked in months, you know it's a powerful product.
used for possible pcos

I saw online that this was used to treat pcos and the only side effect was gall bladder stones if taken in large doses and not taken with adequate vitamin C so I went ahead & gave it a shot. I think it does affect my insulin and how my body processes sugar because I lose half a lb more each week on the same plan if I am exercising and eating well. Also I am a little more clearheaded sometimes while taking it which I noticed after stopping it for a few days because I thought it wasn't doing much. So this review is for my 2nd bottle, still taking it (better results for me if split one at night and one in morning).

Please tell us, the customer where the nutrient is sourced and derived from. It is better to be honest with the customer and say in all honesty where the ingredients are sourced from.
