I was thrilled to pieces to find an alternative option to pads and tampons when I first came across the idea of a menstrual cup. After researching the pros and cons, I decided to purchase not one, but two. I thought that this would be most opportune in concerns to public washroom scenarios … and it would’ve been, if their use was not so uncomfortably awkward. After using the cup for about 6 hours, I tried to remove and empty it. This is where my problem began. My index finger and thumb would not fit inside of me. I could not squeeze to bottom of the cup to pop the suction and remove it. After trying multiple positions, pushing, baring down, foreign objects, etc. nothing worked. After trying desperately to remove the cup for about an hour with absolutely no success, I abashedly opted for the emergency room. Three hours and an awkward yet humorous discussion later, the cup was removed. With the decision made against a return visit the very next day, I opted to leave the cup with the nurse instead of taking it home with me. The other was donated to a friend who was interested in trying it, cleaned of course.
After years of using pads and tampons it took me a while to be comfortable with using the diva cup, but once I got the hang of it, there was no going back! I love! the diva cup! Not just because of the money it saves or that it has less impact on the environment, but the new found freedom I now have! No more being chained to making sure I have enough pads and tampons stockpiled or making a mad dash to the supermarket, no more hoping people don't spy me making a grab for the "hidden pocket" in my bag as I dash to the loo! It's given me a new found freedom I didn't think I would ever have! Thank you Diva Cup!

I have the Lunette small cup but it didn't fit quite right. This is perfect. I like it a lot more.
not really useful for me

I was so excited when I got this, after reading so many positive reviews. I thought everything will be so comfortable now that I have the diva cup. No leaks, no stress for 12 hours..Hmm.My menstruation is so heavy in the first 2-3 days that I would have to change the cup every hour because of leaks. Changing it so often causes too much discomfort, and it requires time. For a busy person is too much. Using it at night is also risky. after the 2-3 days the bleeding becomes so light that pantiliners would be enough. so the diva cup is useless to me. Later edit: looks like i needed some time to get used to using it. But still in the first 3 or so days I have to use a pad, for 100% safety :D Changed from 2 stars to 4 stars. Brcause even though i need a pad I feel safer than just wiyh the pad alone.
never go back

I'm very excited to contribute with the environment and is amazing I don't have more liking, marks, I even went to camping fro the night and i didn't have to worry for nothing, is just amazing! I must confess the first time took me time to understand but once I watch a video on YouTube how to use it, I just love it

I may never return to pads every again! This is my first venture into safer, more natural options and I totally love it. Its easy to use, though I would say there is a slight learning curve. Its comfortable, if you experience any discomfort you're probably still ascending the learning curve. It really does work for the length of time if you have a moderate flow, but definitely reduce the time if you have a heavy flow. If you've ever thought of trying something else, start here with this today!
