Benfotiamine (S-benzoylthiamine-O-monophosphate) is a derivative of thiamin, belonging to the family of compounds known as "allithiamines." Benfotiamine is fat-soluble and more bioavailable and physiologically active than thiamin. Benfotiamine raises the blood level of thiamin pyrophosphate (TPP), the biologically active co-enzyme of thiamin, and stimulates transketolase, a cellular enzyme essential for maintenance of normal glucose metabolic pathways.
- Helps maintain healthy cells in the presence of blood glucose
- Helps control formation of Advanced Glycation End products (AGEs)
- Helps normalize cellular processes fueled by glucose metabolites

Benfotiamine worked for me. I noticed effects within a few hours of taking it. My eyes felt stronger and did not tire easily when using the computer. I take two in the morning and two at night. I also have no more tingling in my hands, and my kidney seems to have stopped aching. I also compared your product and price with the same brand at Vitamin Shoppe and found out theirs was almost double the price!! Thanks for such a good product at a great price.

I am finishing my 5th bottle at 3 caps per day and as a person with neuropathy in my feet for 5 years I have experienced no improvement whatsoever. For the people that had positive results, good for you. Needless to say I will not be using this product again.
the leucine agitated me

This doesn't work as well for me as other brands. I think the leucine is causing anxiety and agitation. I already have high leucine in my OAT test. I don't need more. I love the price but I won't purchase again unless the leucine is removed
Take this for peripheral neuropathy.

My doctor suggested benfotiamine for peripheral neuropathy (I am not diabetic). At night in particular, my feet and lower legs burn so badly that I can't sleep. I've even been known to put an ice pack at the bottom of my bed. Now I take two capsules of benfotiamine just before bed, and I have definitely noticed an improvement. What I don't know yet is if this has a curative effect or just a lessening of symptoms. Hopefully, the former. Other companies offer benfotiamine, but I've used Doctor's Best products for years and often find them to be good alternatives to Life Extension or other expensive brands--a trusted brand at a good price.
Excellent dose of Benfotaimine

After having a terrible constellation of symptoms for months on end, including heart palpitations that took me numerous times to the hospital, I was diagnosed with a parasite called 'Blastocystis Hominis'. Once I knew what I was dealing with, I was on the road to recovery using a variety of supplements. However, it wasn't until I researched my heart symptoms further after one terrifying night, I found that parasites produce a form of alcohol as a bi-product. This alcohol has to be converted by the body, which requires thiamine. This process is continuous and can quickly deplete your thiamine. Exhausted thiamine levels can cause a multitude of problems, especially cardiovascular, which can ultimately be fatal. NOT ONCE, did a dr at a clinic or hospital check my b1 levels during any heart episode I had. It wasn't until I took this, that my heart started to settle….within half an hour!!! I take this twice a day every day now, and I am feeling normal for the first time in almost a year. I will never be without this. FYI - Other supplements I use are Saccharomyces Boullardi, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Lactoferrin and Wormwood/Black Walnut/Clove tincture.
