The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.
The Shipping Weight includes the product, protective packaging material and the actual shipping box. In addition, the Shipping Weight may be adjusted for the Dimensional Weight (e.g. length, width & height) of a package. Enjoy this mouth-watering meal of Lentil Curry Pilaf. It's only 260 calories and provides 10 g plant based protein and 6 g fiber.
Cooking Instructions: Microwave for best results.
Microwave Cooking Directions
- Remove the lid.
- Remove flavor packet and pour contents into cup.
- Add room temperature water to fill line inside cup (about 2 ½" above bottom of cup). Stir well.
- Microwave on high 2 1/2 minutes. Caution: Microwave oven power may vary. If yours heats faster than most, adjust by starting with cooler water or by reducing cooking time or power level. Stop microwave if product is overcooking.
- Remove from microwave, stir and cover.
- Let stand covered for 6 minutes or until rice and beans are tender and sauce thickens. Stir again and enjoy.
Boiling Water Directions
Follow instructions above except add boiling water to fill line and do not microwave. Let stand covered about 6 minutes until rice and beans are tender and sauce thickens. Stir again & enjoy.

iHerb Customer Reviews
This is one of my favorite of Dr McDougall's products. The flavors are not overpowering (I usually use about half the flavor packet to cut down on sodium) and I love the combination of rice and lentils. Better protein than most of these to-go cups.
Especially if you like curry. I would only add a 25% of the spice and salt packet. That is plenty.
