Description
Eden Nori, sweet and delicate, is the best tasting sea vegetable. Nori cultivation, like organic farming, is an intricate and demanding craft. Seed quality, water temperature, a pristine environment, and drying methods are critical. After harvesting, the nori is washed, chopped, pressed, and dried into paper-thin sheets. Eden Nori is a lustrous, purple-black with a fine aroma missing in lesser grades. It is the wrapper for sushi and rice balls, and is an excellent garnish for all types of food when toasted, and crumbled or sliced into thin strips. Toasting nori turns it bright green, crispy and brings out its flavor.
Suggested Use
For Sushi: Place toasted Nori on a sushi mat, wet hands, spread rice on half of the sheet, add strips of cooked vegetables such as red peppers, carrots and spinach or raw scallions and cucumbers. Add a dab of Eden Umeboshi Paste, roll up in a cylinder and slice with a wet knife. Make a sushi dip sauce with Eden Wasabi Powder and Eden Shoyu. Serve with Eden Pickled Ginger or Eden Pickled Daikon Radish.
To Prepare:
Carefully toast Nori over a flame or in a dry skillet until it turns bright green. It is now ready to use as a garnish, in sushi, or just eat it as a snack.
