Eden organic California or Arizona chick peas. USA family farm grown. Ancient staple food. The perfect salad bean and basis of hummus. High quality vegetable protein, rich in fiber, folate, and manganese. Superb in salads, dips, soups, stews and in making the popular falafel.

Soak: Wash beans, cover with 3 inches water. Soak 6 to 8 hours or overnight. Water plants with soaking water.
Place in a pot with 3 inches water, being to a boil, turn off flame, cover, and let sit 1 1/2 hours. Discard soaking water.
Cook: Place 3 cups of water per 1 cup of soaked beans in a heavy pot. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce flame, and simmer at least 1 1/2 hours.
Note: 1/2 cup dry beans = 1 1/2 cup cooked.
Organic garbanzo beans (cicer arietinum).
Packed on equipment that handles wheat.

I am new to cooking dried beans and find these to be much fresher tasting than the canned variety and I like knowing there's no added salt.

I usually eat it with rice. In my case, It is good.
