The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.

You Will Need:
- 2 eggs
- butter (for ramekins)
- 3 tbsp hot water
- 4 Ramekins needed!
Note: Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Grease the bottom and sides of 4 ramekins with butter. Do not use non-stick cooking spray.
- Mix It Up! Combine cake mix, eggs, and hot water in a mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer, beat on low speed until moistened. Beat at medium speed 1 minute, scraping the sides of the bowl often during into prepare ramekins, about 3/4 full.
- Bake It Up! Place filled ramekins on baking tray, then bake on center oven rack for 10 minutes. Lava cakes are done when the edges are cooked and the center is still liquid. Do not open oven while cakes are baking.
- Serve It Up! Cool 5 minutes before removing cakes from ramekins. Loosen cakes from the side of the ramekin with a knife. Carefully unmold by placing a plate over the top of the cake and invert. Serve warm. Enjoy!

I always get cheer when I bring this to the table. It's so simple to make. In fact, you can fill the included cups ahead of time, then preheat the oven while clearing the dinner plates. While the cakes cool, I whip cream with just a drop or 2 of honey. I top each cake with a dollop of whipped cream. It's a joy to bring a warm dessert to the table.
