I apply this as a leave-in conditioner when my hair is still damp from the shower, and it really keeps my hair moisturized. You get so much product for the price, and it smells great. It's also fair trade, all natural, and the profits on sales go to a good cause. It's a holy grail product for me now.
I have bought it for my Yorkie due to natural ingredients. I like it very much. Now it is winter season, heating in the rooms but dog's coat is excellent, not dry, not matted. Only I am not fully happy because of the fact, that I need to put extremely huge amount of it to feel dog moisturized with it when bathing. So it will last not too long. So 1 star for this thing and 5 stars for quality and we have 3 stars overall.

Smells vile and ruined my hair
Posted by 5577926163868063178 on Aug 16, 2016
I can't even describe the smell of this. It certainly isn't lavender and it certainly isn't lemon. It smells more akin to a compost pile of herbs gone off. I couldn't even mask it by adding my own e.o. blends. The smell also stuck in my long hair for multiple washes so I had a headache from the scent for days on end. On top of the ghastly aroma, it completely ruined my hair texture and color. I have naturally very very dark brown hair. nearly black in winter. Somehow a single treatment of this conditioner actually stripped my hair of its color. What was in this stuff?! I haven't colored my hair in years! I didn't think it was possible for something like this to happen. This stuff also stripped all the moisture out of my wonderful locks and made it matted, tangled, like straw, and I'm pretty sure it gave me split ends where I previously had none. I was truly surprised that is has taken weeks for my hair to start to recover. I would never ever recommend this product to anyone. It is truly inferior in every single way. Alaffia products were excellent in their first 2 years, but as the company ages they seem to be seriously compromising quality and using very cheap ingredients. This really cinched the deal for them losing this customer permanently.

My toddler's hair is pretty fine and can get dry. The conditioner doesn't seem to help. Smells great, good ingredients but it's not moisturising enough. We also use the shampoo, which is great.
less smell but didnt condition my girl hair as much..

Use this as a leave in conditioner
Posted by Evegreen on Aug 07, 2015
i bought this for my kids but it works wonderfully as a leave in conditioner since it's a very light non greasy formula. After towel drying my (bleached) hair I work a small amount thru the ends. My hair is silky smooth and soft once it dries.
