Frontier Natural Products, Cut & Sifted Nettle, Stinging Leaf, 16 oz (453 g)9 Reviews
The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.
The Shipping Weight includes the product, protective packaging material and the actual shipping box. In addition, the Shipping Weight may be adjusted for the Dimensional Weight (e.g. length, width & height) of a package. It is important to note that certain types of products (e.g. glass containers, liquids, fragile, refrigerated or ice packed) will often require protective packaging material. As such, these products will reflect a higher Shipping Weight compared to the unprotected product.

Stinging nettle is a perennial herb originating in Eurasia, but now naturalized over much of the world. Its many documented uses, from as far back as the Bronze Age, led to its seed being carried to numerous regions by settlers, where the plant soon escaped cultivation. The whole stinging nettle plant is valuable — leaves, seeds and roots. Its uses include food, traditional remedies, a fiber source, a dye plant and a rejuvenating spring tonic.
To prepare as a tea, pour 8 oz. boiling water over 1-2 teaspoons herb. Cover and steep 5-10 minutes, strain and serve immediately.

If one is to get the most from this,as with nettle "tea" that you can buy here, one must make an infusion. Its like making tea,but you must allow it to sit for a minimum of 4 hours. Best to leave overnight. 1 OZ/28 grams of herb per quart/liter of water. I heat water to only 80C like making green tea. You get heaps more out of the herb if you infuse it. Ive proved it. You feel the difference. If you only allow 10 minutes, when you strain it,the dried milky tops have not dissolved properly. But an overnight infusion DOES even dissolve those. There is lots of goodness in those milky dried tops as well. This brand has "milky tops" and thats a good thing. It indicates it was picked at its best time in growth cycle. If something takes 6 months to grow,is it going to give up most of whats in it in 10 minutes? Dont think so. Try an infusion and see the difference it makes. The prices here are excellent and shipping to Australia is just the same as in Australia for the same thing. Bonza Mate!
I've used several different brands and this one smelled the freshest and seemed to have the most potent healing properties. I'm using it during my pregnancy and it has prevented anemia and fatigue because of the easily-assimilated iron content. A must-have for anyone looking for a nutritious, mild-tasting tea :)
