Frontier Natural Products, Organic Whole Fenugreek Seed, 16 oz (453 g)6 Reviews
The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.
The Shipping Weight includes the product, protective packaging material and the actual shipping box. In addition, the Shipping Weight may be adjusted for the Dimensional Weight (e.g. length, width & height) of a package. It is important to note that certain types of products (e.g. glass containers, liquids, fragile, refrigerated or ice packed) will often require protective packaging material. As such, these products will reflect a higher Shipping Weight compared to the unprotected product.

Fenugreek seeds are rich in protein and in some cultures both the leaves and seeds are consumed as a food. As a seasoning, the seeds are used whole or ground in a variety of ethnic cuisines.
Fenugreek provides tang to Indian and Thai curry blends and other spice mixtures, chutneys and Middle Eastern halva. In several African countries and in Egypt, the seeds are roasted to produce a hot, coffee-like beverage. Egyptians also grind and mix the seeds with wheat flour to make bread. Fenugreek leaves are served as a vegetable in India. In the United States, fenugreek is used as a flavoring in beverages, candies and desserts, meat dishes, pickles, baked goods and puddings. Fenugreek and mint make a lovely tea blend. Extracts from the seeds are used for flavoring syrups and sauces (like artificial maple flavoring and imitation maple syrup) and pipe tobaccos. Use fenugreek sparingly; too much can make a dish bitter.
iHerb Customer Reviews
I recently opened my second bag of Frontier Whole Fenugreek Seed. The first bag was excellent. The second bag, unfortunately, immediately struck me as being somewhat off-color. It looked like it was not clean and was not terribly fresh, though the best buy date was years away. Worse, the second time I used it, I found a piece that was more black than the rest. I wasn't sure at first if it was a bad fenugreek grain or some dirt or something. Turns out it was a small black rock, slighly larger than the fenugreek, but not big enough that it would be easy to distinguish. It would have been very easy to break a tooth on this. I would not buy Frontier brand fenugreek again, and strongly recommend against it. I contacted them, and they advised me to ask iherb for a refund. I chose not to do so, as I don't think iHerb is responsible for Frontier's problems in q/a.
I grind in my magic bullet. Great for phleghm in sinus, chest and for bowel. I take 1/4 tsp 1-3 x day.
