Taste that makes a difference
To ensure fresh flavor that's always pure and natural, our spices are quality tested and freshness dated.
A bit stronger than anise seed, this intriguing, star-shaped spice is often used in Chinese and Vietnamese cooking.
An essential ingredient in Chinese five spice powder, star anise can also be used in simmering meat and poultry dishes and in combination with other whole spices for mulling cider and wine.
Could not find this spice anywhere in Idaho or Montana (I am a displaced New York City and California lady. I exhausted myself trying to find it klically in name supermarkets and even reduced myself to try and beg or buy some from local asian restaurants, But, VOILA. I found IHERB.com. Problem solved, End of story, Signed, A satisfied customer
Have only used it in hot water as tea, and it taste so good! And one anise last for such a long time! I love it, definitely going to try it in proper food as well.

The quality is as expected, and the price is very good compared to Norwegian supermarkets.

I purchased this in preparation to making mulled wine this fall and winter. Smells great. A little goes a far way.
