Wonder Pine Tar Soap Since 1878...is one of the world's great soaps!
Many loyal users have been telling us for generations how "wonder"ful it cleans, moisturizes and deodorizes.
"Soaps from a simpler time."
Excellent for bathing, showering, shaving and shampooing.
Sodium palmate, sodium cocoate, water, glycerin, pinus palustris wood tar, sodium chloride, sodium gluconate. May also contain sodium palm kernelate.
There are no added colors or fragrances to mask the rich brown color and distinctive scent of natural Pine Tar.
No animal by-products and always 100% cruelty free.
Caution: For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes.
Let me start off by saying that this soap is fantastic (as long as you can tolerate the smell). It does a great job at keeping your skin hydrated, even during the winter months. It is worth noting that the 4.25 oz bar is the original formula from 1878 which contains sodium tallowate (animal fat) as its base. Although I do not consider this a problem, some users may prefer a vegetable based alternative. If so, go with the 3.25 bar. It contains all of the same ingredients as the 4.25 oz bar, minus the animal fat.
I ordered this soap after developing an extremely severe rash after delivering my son. This condition, known as PUPPS, occurs in some small percent of pregnant women/new mums. The rash was AWFUL -- insanely itchy and spreading fast all over my body. Medical science doesn't quite know what causes it, and the GP couldn't offer me any medication as I was breastfeeding. On researching it online, I found that several women had benefited from using Grandpa's Wonder Pine Tar Soap, so I ordered some. iHerb delivered it in record time for a very reasonable cost (I live in the UK and it's not available here). The soap is FANTASTIC! My rash was much, much better in a few days, 80-90% better in 2 weeks, and now, 3 weeks later, it has more or less vanished. This soap saved my life!! It does have a bit of an unusual smell, but I got used to it very quickly.
This soap cleans well.

I haven't used Pine tar soap since I was a teenager (and we won't go into how long ago that was!) so I was happy to see it available here. It makes wonderful lather and cleans very well. I use it to shampoo my hair at least once a week, 'course its ok for the rest of you as well. Scent is distinctive, but "clean smelling", so I don't find it offensive. Of course the scent disappears when my hair is dry so that's ok.
No me gusta el olor

no me gusta nada el olor, es espantoso y no se va con el paso del tiempo, todo el baño oliendo a ese olor y me deja tozos de la piel blancos un horror. me daba pena tirarla y la huce para limpiar las brochas
Best soap in the world!

Thank on the behalf of my 9yo son suffering from eczema & scabbies,he's completely healed! The family doctor said that nothing can be done & merely prescribed him a tube of moisturiser! Hoped that this company doesn't change anything & may their business prosper since the English coal tar soap was banned!
Would purchase again!

Comes in a generous size, enough to cut into two and use separately. Smells great, but not overpowering. Suds up nicely, without leaving much residue behind, which a lot of supermarket soaps tend to do.
