Grifron Maitake, Mai Green Tea, 20 Tea Bags, 1.08 oz (30 g)18 Reviews
Expiration Date: Jan 2017
The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.
Shipping Weight: 0.34 lbs (0.15 kg)
The Shipping Weight includes the product, protective packaging material and the actual shipping box. In addition, the Shipping Weight may be adjusted for the Dimensional Weight (e.g. length, width & height) of a package. It is important to note that certain types of products (e.g. glass containers, liquids, fragile, refrigerated or ice packed) will often require protective packaging material. As such, these products will reflect a higher Shipping Weight compared to the unprotected product.

Maitake (pronounced "My-Tah-Key) is a giant legendary mushroom in Japan, called "The King of Mushrooms" for its exquisite taste and flavor. It has been prized in traditional Japanese herbology for hundreds of years. Maitake, literally meaning "Dancing Mushroom", was named thus because people who found this precious mushroom deep in the mountains would begin dancing with joy.
Mai Green Tea uses highest quality Maitake mushrooms, grown in our bio-farm in Japan under stringent quality control standards. It is the same strain that has supported all major researches and studies.
Green tea is the most popular traditional drink in Japan and is served at every Japanese meal. Today, science has found a powerful antioxidant property in green tea. It contains polyphenols, a form of bioflavonoids, which act as a strong antioxidant and help fight free-radicals. Such activities of green tea are more effective than those of vitamin E and C in preserving particularly healthy skin. Green tea normally contains about one-third the caffeine of black tea.
The green tea used in Mai Green Tea is premier "matcha" tea which is used in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony and claims the lowest content of caffeine.

iHerb Customer Reviews
Being a breast cancer survivor, I want to add maitake mushrooms to my diet as well as green tea. This green tea has the health benefits and is the best tasting.
My first cup of Maitake was questionable; I had been used to other "commercial" teas. But, surprisingly, this tea has actually grown on me & I enjoy it! The mild scent is calming & I've actually dropped a few pounds after 2+ weeks of daily use (an added bonus I was not expecting!). It's a great product for those who like to sample the world of Teas!
