Diabetes, Insulin resistance, PCOS, Metabolic syndrome,
February 15, 2009
From Sweden
New research has shown a connection between vitamin D-deficiency and both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Here in Sweden, and the neighbouring country Finland as well, where the prevalence of diabetes type 1 is the highest in the world, D-vitamin supply, due to few sun hours/year, is also scarse. PCOS women, especially those who are also diabetics, have low levels of vitamin D. Google "vitamin D and diabetes/insulin resistance/PCOS" and "Vitamin D, the miracle vitamin" and you will find some interesting facts, and also that not even sun bathing a lot anywhere on the northern hemisphere will give you enough of the vitamin. My insulin resistance and my belly fat have improved since I started taking 5 capsules a day, a dosage suggested by new scientific findings. I have better blood sugar. My osteoporosis has also improved. To avoid D vitamin excess, take a blood test now and then.

A Great 'size' (IU) pill as a replacement for when your doctor orders the artificial 50,000IU/wk pill!,
June 13, 2008
From Massachusetts
My Vitamin D level was measured at 16 by my endocrinologist. It should be 50 to 70 to correctly do all the fantastic functions that it performs in our bodies. After three months of taking 3 of these pills every day, I now have Blood Sugars in a remarkably more normal range and I feel so much better. I am awaiting a repeat testing. The thing that amazed me was that I've always loved sitting in the sun but apparently that was not enough to correct my low level. These pills did the trick. And they are all natural, not artificial like the pills my doctor ordered. Utilization by the body is so much more efficient when the body recognizes compatible material instead of products made in a chemistry lab. The pills are so tiny that taking three a day is nothing! And there is no GI distress nor burping up anything like 'fish oil' capsule sometimes cause. Healthy Origins really seems to be living up to its reputation. I highly recommend this product if your test shows you need added Vitamin D too.

I have been taking Vitamin D3, 2,400 IU, 360 Softgels for 6 months. Gone from 25 nmol/L to 110nmol/L taking 2 per day. Equivalent in any pharmacy obtained Vit D3 costs 3 -4 times as much (including shipping).
Been using iHerb for over a year, products and service are fantastic.

Love it,

From California
I've been taking Vitamin D3 for sometime. Recent studies show it's good for a number of things including improving bone density. Previously I was taking a tablet then read you benefit much more if D3 is in gel-cap form so I switched to this product. Because this is 2,400 IU I only need to take one a day.

Vitamin D3,
February 06, 2008
From Ireland
I firmly believe that most of us are severely lacking in Vitamin D3. At 2,400 a time, these softgels mean that I don't have to swallow huge numbers of pills to get the amount I need. I take 3 a day during the winter months and find that I rarely catch colds or flu. When I do succumb, I seem to recover much faster than other people.
