Ok, But Not The Best

Posted by 5325390621192178196 on Dec 06, 2016

I have 2c wavy, mid-density, very porous, hair that gets dry very fast, so I have to moisturize a lot. I decided to start the curly girl method three months ago, and this is my second no-sulphates shampoo. The texture is very runny, so I use about 1 1/2 tbs each time I wash it (my hair is cut to collarbone length). I like the smell, it's like coconut milk, very faint. After I use it, my waves are nicely defined if I use curl-defining conditioner and products, and my hair looks clean & shiny for about 2 days after washing it. The only problem I find with this it's that it doesn't add any moisture to my hair: if I use it with just my conditioner (not the matching one of the same brand, but still a curly-specific one), I get a lot of flyaways and frizz. Also, if I do an oil-based treatment before I wash my hair (like coconut or argan oil), it leaves some residue after washing it, so my hair looks dull. It was ok, but I won't buy again.

It cleans the hair. Nothing more, nothing less. It smells nice, nothing too overpowering.

I am happy with the ingredients of this shampoo, and it smells nice. However, in my experience it doesn't lather much, and seems to cause my long hair to get more tangled than when I use other shampoos. Will probably not purchase again.
