Carotenoid Blend of Zeaxanthin, Lutein, C3G, Meso-Zeaxanthin Plus Astaxanthin
MacuGuard Ocular Support with Astaxanthin
Lutein is one of the major components of macular pigment and it is essential to proper vision. Eating large quantities of lutein and zeaxanthin-containing vegetables can help provide the nutritional building blocks necessary to maintain the structural integrity of the macula. It’s difficult, however, to increase systemic circulation of these important nutrients through food alone. Now there is an easier way to bolster your eye integrity.
MacuGuard Ocular Support contains phospholipids, which are an integral part of the cell membrane. In addition to mixing well with other important fat-soluble components of the eye such as lutein, phospholipids have been shown to help support efficient absorption of dietary lutein in the blood stream as well.
Phospholipids have been shown in scientific research to improve systemic circulation and accumulations of lutein in the retina of the eyes, making them a potent all-around weapon in your arsenal for eye health.
MacuGuard Ocular Support offers triple eye protection:
- Supports concentration of lutein in the eye.
- Supports efficient absorption of lutein in the blood stream.
- Phospholipids enhance lutein in the cell membrane.
- Supports zeaxanthin concentrations in eye.
- Provides meso-zeaxanthin which is difficult to obtain from dietary sources.
This formula provides ingredients that have been shown to protect healthy eyesight. Each capsule contains MacuGuard carotenoid phospholipid blend, which provides phospholipids, lutein, meso-zeaxanthin and trans-zeaxanthin, along with cyanidin-3-glucoside (C3G) from European black currant extract. The formula also contains astaxanthin, which when taken with other carotenoids has been shown to protect against free radical-induced DNA damage and may play a protective role against eye fatigue.
Read the entire label and follow the directions carefully prior to use.
Take one (1) softgel daily with or without food, or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner.
Based on scientific studies, this formula is enhanced with phospholipids to increase lutein absorption.

iHerb Customer Reviews
Good: GREAT Value! Astaxanthin 6 mg, MESO-Zeaxanthin = GOOD, Lutein. BAD: Annatto color MAY cause allergies, but I believe the risk from Capsule or Tablet is small. Among 61 consecutive patients suffereing from chornic urticaria and/or angioneurotic oedema 56 patients were orally provoked by annatto extract during elimination diet. Same thing with Beeswax, probably OK from a capsule.
I bought this combine 2 pills in one: Zeaxanthin with Astaxanthin. So far have noticed absolutely no improvement in my eyesight. Zeaxanthin is the only thing that supposedly actually reverse catarachs, but my beginning cataracs are getting worse. Perhaps it will work for someone else. The price is on the same level of other manufacturers - equally absorbitantly expensive, and sold in meagre bottles. I looked at Mercola Eye Support and noticed that it has 50mg Anthrocyanis vs this one's 5mg. 50 was the dose used in research. I will try Mercola's. It better be worth the exorbitant price!! But my eyes are worsening, so anything would be worth it. After finishing 2 bottles of Mercola's I have not noticed anything. So it must be my eyes, not the products?
