Black Japonica Blend
Juice & Bold Succulent, with a roasted nutty flavor and exotic sweet spiciness. This unique rice variety is nutrient-rich and high in health-promoting anthocyanin antioxidants, like those found in blueberries and blackberries.
Lundberg Family Farms supports the consumer's right to choose foods that have not been genetically modified. This product has been produced in accordance with the best practices of the Non-GMO Project Standard.
- In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups water and 1 cup rice to boil.
- Cover with a tight-fitting lid, reduce heat to low simmer, and cook 40 minutes.
- Remove from heat (with lid on!) and let steam for 10 minutes. Fluff with fork.
To prepare in a rice cooker, use same water-rice ratio. If rice is crunchy at the end of cooking time, it may be necessary to add 1-2 tbsp liquid and cook longer.

Very aromatic, delicious, and nutritious blend of black and mahogany whole grain rice with a gourmet flavor. This is terrific stuff! It has a strong flavor and smells odd when it's cooking (I always think it's burning) but the flavor is wonderful. I cook it with soup stock, some seasonings and beans. Used that way it is almost an entire meal by itself. Even friends who generally don't like rice like this. I highly recommend it!
