Initiating six month trial,
August 11, 2008
From California
I found several testimonies on the internet about resveratrol eliminating or greatly reducing arthritis pain. One man felt that his rheumatoid arthritis went into remission after taking resveratrol for six months. It seems that the dose used was at least 500mg. I am a small 100lb. female, so I may not need as much but dosages are really not validated. I am taking 400 mg to 600 mg per day and will give it six months. After two weeks I seem to have a reduction in pain.

You need this product!,

I take 3 of these daily, to get a theraputic dose. My blood pressure is down, and I just feel better in general. Also, there is a lot of research about the positive effect of resveratrol on impaired kidney function. Being somebody with impaired kidney function, I started taking this product. It seems to be working!

200mg trans-Resveratrol per Vcap,
January 11, 2008
From Arizona
Best deal around so far. The highest dosage of trans-Resveratrol per capsule of any brand Iherb.com carries. 1 Vcap equals about 200 glasses of red wine without any alcohol.

Makes a real difference in how I feel.,
April 24, 2008
From Florida
I have only used Resveratrol Mega Potency a short while but it is noticeable that I seem a bit younger feeling. I would like to finish the bottle to have a firm opinion but so far so good.

Good deal,
March 14, 2009
I did a little research before starting this product, on MDConsult and Uptodate, which I consider to be pretty decent resources. The papers I read stated that it was a powerful antioxidant and could potentially reduce the risks of cardiovascular disease, but that hasn't been definitively proven in humans. Animal studies have demonstrated the most dramatic effects with the equivalent of 500 mg of trans-resveratrol in a human. But I'm keeping in mind that these are ANIMAL studies and didn't evaluate long term safety risks...so it's probably a good idea to watch the dosing.
This product is definitely the best deal around--1 capsule is apparently equivalent to the amount of trans-resveratrol in ~ 300 glasses of wine! Does anyone know this company's reputation though (a.k.a. do these capsules really have 200 mg trans-resveratrol)?
Some cautions:
I'm not sure whether resveratrol is broken down by the liver, but if it is I doubt you'd want to take a high dose with LIVER DISEASE unless you talk to your doc first. Because the active resveratrol could take so much longer to process with a sick liver, taking 1 capsule could be like a healthy person taking 2, 3 or 4...
The same might go for KIDNEY DISEASE (the reason I wrote this--somebody commenting above has kidney problems and is taking a triple dose!). The kidney is responsible for getting a lot of things out of the blood, possibly (and I'm guessing probably) resveratrol. If so, and your kidneys don't work well, you'll either have a) higher levels of resveratrol and/or b) a lot more inactivated/waste product of resveratrol hanging around in your body than a healthy person taking the same dose. So again, 1 capsule for this person might be equivalent to taking a lot more as far as potential toxicity is concerned...
