Ferrous gluconate is the plant form of iron. It is gentle on the body and doesn't cause constipation like ferrous sulfate does.
Mom broke her leg and had to take Iron for a while due to blood loss, still anemic so they want mom to take more Ferrous Sulfate... terrible stuff extremely constipating, so she is taking this one and much happier. Her Iron levels are rising little by little with diet, one of these F. Gluconate (2 caused constipation) and Vitamin C for absorption. Hope this helps someone, teacupLA
