D-Mannose is a simple sugar that occurs naturally in some plants, including cranberries. Although small amounts of D-Mannose are metabolized by the human body, much of it is rapidly excreted in the urine. In the bladder, D-Mannose can adhere to undesirable foreign substances, preventing them from sticking to the lining of the bladder. Because insubstantial amounts of D-Mannose are used by the body, it does not interfere with blood sugar regulation.
As a dietary supplement, take 3 capsules 1 to 3 times daily. Take with water or unsweetened juice, such as unsweetened cranberry juice. Consider taking this product in combination with NOW Cranberry, Vitaberry Plus+ and Gr8-Dophilus.

iHerb Customer Reviews
I had been having issues with bladder discomfort for about a year. Doctors kept telling me that, while there was a tiny bit of bacteria in my urine, it wasn't ever enough to be considered a UTI, but I still just didn't feel right. Cranberry suppliments didn't really help. The doctor gave me some antibiotics that did help, but they made my joints ache like crazy. THEN I discovered D-Mannose. I'm not usually one to try the herbal remedy, but I felt rotten enough that I'd try anything. I feel normal again. If you're having bladder issues, I STRONGLY reccomend giving this a shot.
I was skeptical, but desperate. After years of treatment I became allergic to sulfa, resistant to macrobid, and disgusted when doctor recommended daily keflex. I used one dose (3 caps) every 4 hours for 7-10 days to clear an active infection. I now take one dose a day for prevention, bump it back up for a day or two if bladder feels "stressed," and I'm fine. (I'll be taking the bottle along to my 6-month checkup this month) Stick with it--it works!

I have suffered from chronic UTI's for years and years, getting almost 2 weeks with and 2 weeks without if I'm lucky and taking so many courses of antibiotics is very worrying! I have been on these tablets for a month now and so far am all clear which is fantastic for me! I am hoping to keep this going! I combine these tablets with Ellura tablets for the most effect as they work well in combination.

I was getting desperate with constant bladder infections until I found this. Even one or two pills a day as preventive seem to help. I definitely recommend this product! I also recommend taking some probiotics along with it.

Tried it for antibiotic resistant UTI, used long term and am still using it. They can work on their own when the person's health is stable, but in a season of low immunity (such as spring or other season change) i needed to add Goldenseal or Thorne Uristatin to them, because D-Mannose was not enough. If you take too much of it, it will give you loose stools, but 3 capsules a day were absolutely okay for sensitive stomach.
