Holy Basil [Ocimum tenuiflorum (also known as Ocimum sanctum)] has been shown to possess powerful adaptogenic properties and has been used to enhance the body's ability to respond to stress and minimize the negative effects of stress on the body. In addition, animal studies have demonstrated that Holy Basil can support carbohydrate metabolism and, as a result, healthy blood glucose levels. Holy Basil is revered as a sacred plant in Ayurveda, the traditional therapeutic system of India.
As a dietary supplement, take 1 Vcap 1 to 2 times daily, preferably with food. Consider taking this product in combination with NOW Relora, SAMe and P-5-P.

I tend to sweat the small stuff, and get emotional easily. This product has made a change in my mood that everyone around me has noticed. I also have noticed my blood sugar levels have stabilized, I dont get dizzy or clamy anymore if I have waited a little to long to eat. I love this product and will continue to take it every day!!
I take this in conjunction with Rhodiola Rosea to stave off mild depression and anxiety. Holy Basil does take the edge of anxiety, no side effects, and I will continue to use this herb. Much better than anti-depressants (for me) that cause unwanted side effects.
Didn't notice any obvious effects for anxiety

Holy Basil didn't seem to do much for me. Herbs tend to be a very individual thing. What works for one doesn't for another at times if the underlying cause is somewhat different. In the end I resolved my issue by addressing over-stressed adrenals (a common problem in today's society!) and took the herb Schizandra - miracle stuff. This has a powerful sedative action by reducing the production of cortisol, the stress hormone produced by your adrenals which can happen when they are stressed. In my experience it is critical to get to the root cause of your symptoms in order to succeed in aiming for good health. It pays to see a Naturopath or Herbalist for some advice, although in this case I worked it out for myself, the slow and painful way - 9 years of searching lead me to Schizandra, a major Chinese herb with wonderful benefits. I started taking this when I heard the virtues of taking Holy Basil. I take it every day now, and can notice a real negative change in my mood when I forget to take it.

Works for anxiety attacks

I take this mostly for the anxiety attacks, it has a lot of other benefits as well. I take 2 capsules in the late morning and then 2 capsules 2 1/2 hours later. I don't know yet if I have to take it again 2 1/2 hours after the 2nd time or not. Either way, it is well worth it because it keeps me from having anxiety attacks. When I have anxiety attacks, it is difficult to get things done or do anything so. Thank God that something works for it!!! God bless you all.
