L-Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid that can be readily converted into the amino acid tyrosine. Because tyrosine is necessary for the synthesis of proteins and the production of the neurotransmitters dopamine and norepinephrine, Phenylalanine is an extremely important nutrient that must be obtained through the diet or by supplementation.
As a dietary supplement, take 1 capsule 1 to 3 times daily as needed, preferably between meals.
Gelatin (capsule), cellulose and magnesium stearate (vegetable source).
Not manufactured with wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish or tree nut ingredients. Produced in a GMP facility that processes other ingredients containing these allergens.
Settling of powder may occur in the capsule, which is filled by weight without added fillers.
Store in a cool, dry place after opening.
For adults only. Consult a physician if pregnant/nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition. Persons with high blood pressure should consult a physician before using.
Keep out of reach of children.

This is a must-have for anyone experiencing mild depression. Start with one capsule first thing in the morning. Over a few weeks, move up to two in the morning and one in the afternoon. MUST be taken on an empty stomach. This is the first ingrediant in your arsenal against depression. Also helpful are 5-htp (take at bedtime); B-complex; DMAE (I prefer first thing in the morning); phosphatidyl serine; vinpocetine; and fish oil. I believe that nutritional supplements saved my life. I've tried a lot of products, and I know what works and what doesn't. My reviews are honest, straighforward, and based on my experience. Read my other reviews to quickly learn from my three decades of research and experimentation.
I find that if I don't take certain supplements I tend to get depressed. This is probably the centerpiece of my anti-depressant supplements.

Definitely the best brand in terms of potency, though your mileage may vary when it comes to the overall usefulness of phenylalanine as a supplement. It did provide a mood lift for me, but I don't think the recommended 1 capsule dose is likely to make a dent in cases of truly intractable depression and/or ADHD. At least not by itself.

Using this AA in conjunction with 3 others plus herbs and magnesium - I have managed to turn around a 35 year habit of type 2 insomnia that has responded to no other forms or combinations od treatments. I'm now sleeping through the night and waking fully rested at least 5 nights out of the week. This is nothing short of miraculous in my experience. All the AA products that I use are the Now Brand and their price combined with effectiveness makes this a product that I am more than happy to recommend to anyone.
