L-Theanine is an amino acid naturally found in green tea. L-Theanine promotes relaxation without the drowsiness or negative side effects associated with other calming agents. L-Theanine also supports healthy cardiovascular function through this relaxing effect. This formulation also includes Inositol, a member of the B-Vitamin family that is essential for brain and nervous system health.
As a dietary supplement, take 1 capsule 1 to 2 times daily as needed, preferably on an empty stomach.

There are already over 100 good reviews so I won't repeat the frequently stated benefits. This is a great thing to try before trying an over the counter sleep drug or a prescription drug. I will say that this is an amino acid and to be most effective you should take on an empty stomach. I have seen some say they take it at dinner time and this will not be as effective. This may have been the problem with the few reviewers who said it did not work at all. As for the one or two that had a stomach issue while taking it, they could try taking it with more water. L-Theanine Ineffective for Our Needs
I'm sorry to say it was of little help in helping my son cope with OCD issues. This amino acid was recommended by his treating psychiatrist as a possible natural alternative to prescription drugs. He had gone off of Prozac last year and to date no natural compound has been effective in reducing his compulsive tendencies like Prozac had been. We are looking at possibly returning to prescriptions.

Only a nominal change in anxiety levels after taking a capsule. Disappointing performance.

It seemed to almost stop my thinking mind ... But it didnt do anything else.. i think i took around 15 pils in total, two pils at a go, and one pill twice a day.. But didnt experience much difference to continue it.. I gave the rest to my sister. Maybe she will benefit

Relaxed to a degree but not such a good result as some other reviewers. Tried Valerian and that helped better. In the end I resolved my issue by addressing over-stressed adrenals and took the herb Schizandra - miracle stuff. Schizandra is deeply calming in a way that other herbs don't seem to do - it's kind of subtle but very powerful. I am now cured of ongoing anxiety due to extreme fatigue. Be aware that anxiety (and depression) can be caused by struggling Adrenal Glands due to stress - with over production of cortisol, the stress hormone.
