I have been using this on and off for several years to maintain my weight and prevent overeating. It works very well. To the new users I would say this: give it a couple of weeks to kick in. It needs to build up in your system. Also, it isn't a stimulant or a metabolism booster or anything like that. It's a straight appetite suppressant, nothing more. And it's not a miracle pill, but it does work. If that's what you need, this may fit the bill. Because there haven't been (to my knowledge) any conclusive studies about the long term effects of hoodia on the human body, my choice is to use with caution. I cycle on and off frequently and I also take it with milk thistle (a known liver protectant and purifier) just in case. I do like the fact that I haven't built a tolerance to it and that it doesn't cause things like jitters, high blood pressure or heart issues--which is often the case with other diet supplements. This works for me. And I'll probably keep using it. NOW products have never been a disappointment.
Waste of money

Did not notice a reduction in appetite, even taking 4 capsules at a time. Will not buy again.

It only came with 60 tabs, so I took less to make it last longer. I did feel less hungry while taking these- at one point I was hungry at work so I popped in two of them, and minutes later the hunger pangs went away for hours. These definitely help if one is making a serious effort to eat less. However, I noticed that after two weeks or so, the efficacy of them faded a bit, though I still continued to take them. I also did experience some nightly gas pains for most of the duration in which I took them, but it wasn't enough to stop me from taking them daily. I finished the bottle, and will most likely purchase them again. I wish more came in the bottle.

While traveling I bought hoodia and it worked. When I ran out and couldn't find the same brand I tried NOW. At first I thought it wasn't working, then before giving up I tried 2 capsules and it was effective, although not as long as the orginal brand I tried. NOW has always been a great brand for all my other suppliments - but they should read the reviews and change their directions from "1 or 2" when their serving size is "2". I only had to take 1 of the other brand.
Maybe works... maybe not

I bought this supplement to reduce my appetite, but I am not sure if it works. Sometimes it seems to reduce it, but sometimes I get just as hungry as without it. And when it does seem to help, I can't tell if it's not just placebo or other factors that actually influence my appetite.
