- A Dietary Supplement
Digestive enzymes are essential to the body’s absorption and full use of food. The capacity of the body to make enzymes diminishes with age, and therefore the efficiency of digestion declines. NOW Papaya Enzyme Lozenges have a refreshing taste and support digestion when taken after meals. Our tablets are made from whole, unripe, spray-dried Papaya powder, and contain 40 mg of Papaya per Lozenge. In addition, Protease, Lipase and Cellulase have been included for a full spectrum of enzymatic activity.
As a dietary supplement, chew or dissolve 2 lozenges in mouth following meals or as needed. Consider taking these other NOW products: Optimal Digestive System and DGL.
Stearic acid (vegetable source), magnesium stearate (vegetable source), silica, peppermint powder, peppermint oil and sodium copper chlorophyllin.
Not manufactured with wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish or tree nut ingredients. Produced in a GMP facility that processes other ingredients containing these allergens.

iHerb Customer Reviews
This product seems good, it has less other garbage in it than others, but the problems is that it doesn't work well enough. There is some effect, but it is not strong enough to push me to buy it again. The loozenges are not as hard as some other people have reviewed, but I suppose if you have sensitive or weak teeth it might cause a problem, otherwise, they are fine. I guess for some they might work well, for me they were just so so, not sure if I will buy again or not.
These are very good for my reflux. They taste very good and are easy to chew and contain no bad food dyes .

A lot of information is coming out now on Magnesium Stearate, an additive that can be found in a lot of supplements. The only reason they put that in there is to help the manufacturing process, it is not something we should be putting into our bodies according to a number of doctors. Another reviewer made a good point about the harmful Sugar Alcohols, Sorbitol and Mannitol. Do your own research on this, a simple web search brings up a lot of information. It is time for manufacturers to stop producing outdated supplement recipes, and get with the current research. Now.
Helps with heartburn.

I get heartburn regularly. Every time I mix animal and vegetable fats in food I wake up in the middle of the night feeling like my back is squeezed by hot iron rods. These help, especially combined with alkaline green tea.

We have been using this product for a year or more to aid with symptoms of indigestion and heartburn, and find it very helpful. Taste is pleasant, too.
