Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea) is indigenous to the Arctic and Alpine regions of Europe, Asia and America and has long been used as a tonic by many cultures, including the Ancient Greeks. Rhodiola is generally known as an "adaptogen", a term which refers to any agent possessing the ability to increase the body's capacity to adapt to stressful conditions. This standardized extract of min. 3% Total Rosavins and min. 1% Salidroside is the highest potency of Rhodiola available.
As a dietary supplement, take 1 capsule to 2 times daily, preferably with food.
Cellulose (capsule), cellulose powder, silica and magnesium stearate (vegetable source).
Not manufactured with wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish, or tree nut ingredients.
Produced in a GMP facility that processes other ingredients containing these allergens.

There's one thing you should know about Now's Rhodiola: It's dose dependant. These are the results of my experiments with it: -1 Pill at breakfast and it's a very good mood booster. It activates you for the whole day and it increases your confidence and productivity. It also increases your sex drive and a general feeling of well being. It feels a bit like if you had taken 4 coffees. Be sure to take it early in the morning or else it will keep you awake at night - 1/2 Pill taken before sleep and it just knocks you out. It does just the opposite that the whole pill. You get very very sleepy in just 20 minutes and you need to go to bed. The sleep quality is a bit light but I'm sure a lot of people could get benefit from this usage.
Stay healthy and fight against everyday stress with Rhodiola Rosea or Golden Root, one of the best adaptogens you can find (together with Ashwagandha) with so many benefits. It is just amazing how one herb can make you calm and reduce the stress and anxiety, but in the same time gives you a lot of energy and keeps you motivated whole day. This is probably unique characteristic, keeps you calm but makes you active and focused. It gives you more confidence because you stay calm during some stressful situations and you become more stress resistant. It makes you motivated for every task you have to. It makes you smart! To, to say this in simple way, it makes you happy and you will enjoy your life more. Because of this motivation it gives, rhodiola is also used by people who do sport or go to gym. It amps up your energy. It reduces cortisol level (major stress hormone... less cortissol=more muscles and hair :) This results in, predictably, improved memory and focus, better energy levels, increased resistance to sickness, and significantly better insulin response. Keep in mind that on the market you can find many products but you will not have the same benefits from all of them. Therefore it's important to choose the right product and NOW foods is the one you can always trust and you don't have to spend a lot of money. This caps are standardized to 3% of rosavins (the active part) and this is standard % you can find (there are some with more like Jarrows, but this is not needed. I will explain why). It says on the bottle that you have to take 2 caps daily. But this caps are filled with 500 mg of strong extract and this is just too much! Be careful when taking rhodiola! Less is more and I felt this on my own skin. When I tried this product for the first time I was taking 2 caps per day and this was 1000 mg of strong extract per day. My anxiety level went all up high and I had one of the worst anxiety and panic attacks ever with heart palpitations, sweating, sleeping problems... I decided to quit rhodiola....After a month I read that according to research the daily intake depends on the % of rosavin extract: 100-170 mg./day for 3,6% rosavin extract, 180-300 mg./day 2% rosavin extract, 360-600 mg./day 1% rosavin extract. I can confirm that this is completely right! Now I split the capsule in 3 parts and take only cca 166 mg per day (early in the morning). I feel great! Like never before and I hope that this great feeling will last forever. I'm completely calm, relaxed but again full of energy, motivation and positive thinking. No more sleeping problems. If you decide to take rhodiola do not take more than it is needed. If you want, you can try to split capsule in two parts (just open the capsule and spill part of the content into juice or directly into mouth and take juice or water (It's not that bad :). Like this you will make 120 portions and this will last for 4 months!!! Just keep in mind, less is more when you take rhodiola! You can have opposite and unexpected reaction if you take too much. This herb is just too strong to be taken in higher doses. This is the reason why I sad that it's beetter to aviod extracts stronger than 3% rosavins. One more thing... when taken with coffee you will feel extra, but really extra rush of energy. If anxiety will be present, you can always take Ashwagandha (like me) to reduce the anxiety. They make one of the best possible stack you can take each morning! This mix is worth trying (rhodiola+ashwagandha)!!!

I take 2 every morning and see a huge difference in how I handle the hurdles in life. I can't say it makes me feel like I have more physical stamina as others have claimed. I think it helps me personally feel more empowered.... I recommend it to anyone who suffers from anxiety as well.

Excellent calms the autonomic nervous system without sedative effect on the brain and helps regulate arrhythmias.

I have been using Now brand rhodiola for about a month. I talk half a capsule around 9 pm, and it has been helping my asthma. For many years, my asthma has flared at around 10 pm, which is the time for the endocrine system according to the Chinese body clock. So it seems that supporting my adrenals with rhodiola is helping. If I take a whole capsule at night, it interferes with sleep so a half is better.
