Slippery Elm (ulmus fulva) also known as Red Elm, Moose Elm or Indian Elm, is a small tree native to North America. It has been a part of traditional herbal medicine for over 100 years, and was used by both Native Americans and early settlers as a survival food during lean times.
Slippery Elm Powder can be used as a tea by boiling 1 pint of water and adding 1 oz. powder, stirring constantly. Drink 6 oz. three to four times a day.
As an herbal dietary supplement, stir 1 teaspoon into 1 cup of water and simmer for several minutes. Let cool. Add honey and sip or gargle, several times a day.

Works great for an inflammed digestion system, felt it soothing the intestines right away. I found it's best to drink small glasses of it throughout the day to maintain it's effect. The warm tea recipe really helps soothe, much better than taking pills.
My health practitioner recommended this product as part of a protocol for healing my leaky gut and aiding my digestion. I use it several times a day before meals. I heat water to very warm, not hot, in a cup and add 1 tsp. slippery elm powder and 1/2 tsp. glutamine powder. Let it sit for 5 minutes, stir, drink. I don't add sweetener because I find the taste pleasant on its own, but sweetener can be added if desired. I also brew a half cup before bedtime. This calms my digestive system from top to bottom.

It had a weird consistency - it wasn't smooth like other brands I've tried, it was almost like it had bits of sand in it. Also it did not get jelly-like enough.

This did not work other product does. Christopher's Original Formulas, Slippery Elm works very good.

I simply add warm water to a teaspoon of this Slippery Elm powder & drink it like a cup of tea - it's delicious and soothing for my gut.

product is good iherb delivery also good. good for gastrics relief in morning toliet but its heat senstive avoid heat sesnsivte food with it.
usage with psoriasis

i started using this product because doctor John Pagano says it helps against a leaky gut which causes psoriasis. the psoriasis doesnt go away, therefore you need to change diet etc. it does reduce the itchy feel so i have to shower less, and if i forget to take it, especially before going to bed, the 'number two' i normally have in the morning, doesnt go that well. obviously this also draws back on diet. i use it before breakfast, dinner and sleeping. It does seem to sooth/coat the GI tract helping it to recover. its nice to drink, no need for honey although who doesnt want some sweetness. especially since white sugar is a total no go. concluion; for psoriasis i can recommend to use slipepry elm. but dont expect miracles.
