I called the company. The vegetable source is palm. I use it in baking for my autistic son, who needs to avoid cane & corn sugar. It made my gluten-free brownie recipe light & fluffy. It's much sweeter than sugar & you have to reduce the amount of other liquid if you substitute for granulated sugar. I would substitute 2/3 c veg. glycerin for each cup of sugar & reduce other liquid by 1/4 c.
I mix this with filtered water in a spray bottle (approx. 1 part glycerin to 6 parts water). Makes it easy to spray on arms and legs, face, hands, etc. It keeps my skin from drying out and makes it smooth and soft. It feels slightly sticky right after applying but only for about 5-10 minutes. Skin feels smooth and soft the rest of the day! I-Herb is great! I've placed a number of orders and every time everything has been packaged well and arrived without any problems. I buy nearly all my vitamins, personal care, and even some food items from them. Never been disappointed!

I use this to make toothpaste, add it to the homemade diaper wipe solution which is just chamomile tea, a bit of white vinegar so it doesn't mold and couple drops of lavender with a squirt of this glycerin. Then I refrigerate until I need more. I cut up and sewn the edges so it didn't fray so much with a yard of baby soft cotton cloth. I use a bucket filled with vinegar water and wash like normal in the machines. My husband unfortunately smokes an e-cig and this is the stuff they use for the liquids. He is experimenting with his own flavors

Not sure what's happening with packing and shipping the last 2 shipment - this glycerine bottle was leaking when it arrived. Aluminium cans of Lavazza coffee and also McCan oats had big dents. Bottles of essential oils some are packed inside plastic while others are not. Sometimes there are plastic air bubble bags, unnecessarily large amount, and other times there's nothing to cushion the products at all.

Great for Homemade Ice Cream!!!

I use this in combination with erythritol to make sugar free (not low fat!) homemade ice cream that will stay soft even after being frozen for several weeks. (It got lost in the freezer or it would not have lasted that long at my house!) I just add 1 TBS of glycerin and 2 TBS of erythritol for every quart of ice cream. The glycerin is great because it also acts a sweetener. Add in some stevia extract powder and you have awesome sugar free ice cream with no aftertaste that stays scoop-able just like the store bought stuff only with much better flavor!
