NuNaturals, Sweet-X, Xylitol Crystals, 8 oz (224 g)

Expiration Date: Aug 2017
The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.
Shipping Weight: 0.65 lbs (0.29 kg)
The Shipping Weight includes the product, protective packaging material and the actual shipping box. In addition, the Shipping Weight may be adjusted for the Dimensional Weight (e.g. length, width & height) of a package. It is important to note that certain types of products (e.g. glass containers, liquids, fragile, refrigerated or ice packed) will often require protective packaging material. As such, these products will reflect a higher Shipping Weight compared to the unprotected product.

NuNaturals pure Xylitol (pronounced zi-li-tol) is a white crystalline substance that looks and tastes like sugar. Xylitol is classified broadly as a carbohydrate and more narrowly as a polyol. Xylitol is not actually a sugar, but a sugar alcohol. It is different from sweeteners such as fructose, sorbitol, and glucose because the xylitol molecule has five, instead of six, carbon atoms. Xylitol is slowly absorbed and partially utilized, 40% less than other carbohydrates. Xylitol has been used in foods since the 1960s. In the U.S., Xylitol is approved as a food additive for foods with special dietary purposes. Xylitol does not promote tooth decay.
Our bodies produce up to 15 grams of xylitol from other food sources using established energy pathways. Xylitol is not an artificial substance, but a normal part of everyday metabolism. Xylitol is widely distributed throughout nature in small amounts. Some of the best sources are fruits, berries, mushrooms, lettuce, hardwoods, and corn cobs.
Add 1-2 teaspoons when needed directly in your favorite food or beverage.

iHerb Customer Reviews
I've tried most of the Xylitol crystal products at IHERB and this is probably the best value for money. Although it is a bit dusty when poured, it is dry and free-flowing. I recommend it.
Maybe I got a bad bottle, but compared to the NOW xylitol that I am used to (and which tastes just like sugar), this stuff is bitter and has a chemical aftertaste.
