Nubian Heritage is the brainchild of two New York street vendors. In 1992, fresh out of college and without jobs, Rich and Nyema embarked on a mission to produce luxurious natural products from traditional African recipes with organic and fair trade ingredients. Today Nubian Heritage offers hundreds of culturally authentic natural products inspired by global ancient healing philosophies. Although Nubian Heritage products are no longer made in bath tubs, little else has changed; the company still makes its products itself, still uses fair trade and organic ingredients and still invests in community commerce.
Heritage: African Black Soap, made from palm ash, tamarind extract and plantain peel has been used in Africa for centuries to treat eczema, blemishes, oily skin, psoriasis, and other skin ailments. Historical references to Shea Butter, a staple of African pharmacology, date back to the reported Shea Butter caravans of Cleopatra’s Egypt.
Nubian Heritage’s authentic African Black Soap combines Shea Butter’s healing and hydrating properties with the ancient medicinal properties of palm ash, plantain peel and tamarind to balance and resolve problem skin. Our deep cleansing formula aids exfoliation revealing radiant, fresh, even and healthy- looking skin.
100% vegetable soap: African black soap base, coconut oil* and/or palm oil, butyrospermum parkii (shea butter)*, avena sativa (oat) kernel meal, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, plantain extract, tocopherol (vitamin E), vegetable glycerin, mineral pigment or vegetable color, natural fragrance and/or essential oil.
*Certified Organic Ingredient
I take other supplements for quite a while, which have never fully resolved my acne issues, although they have been greatly improved. Still have some residual acne and clogged pores, and after reading all the amazing reviews decided to order the black soap, and it did not disapoint: very supple skin with smaller pores and gradually much more even, and brighter with reduced impurities. AMAZING skin! CLEVER TIP: cut a very small slice (a little goes a loooong way) and make liquid soap with it (plenty of easy DIY recipes online), then put it in a soap dispenser and you will have the same amazing benefit in a much more practical format, it may not lather as much, but that is irrelevant for me!! Works for me. Have also cut a small slice of it and put it in one of those small complimentary hotel soap boxes, and carry it with me on trips without being heavy, bulky or triggering the liquid limitations of planes. Try it!
This is definitely not real, black African soap, as it claims to be. The price is more than fair for a product like this in my opinion, but I wish they would stock up on the real deal on iherb.

I rally like it. It helps with some stains and pigmentation I have over my arms...the redness decrease. btw- this bar dries the skin, and it's important to know to those who have dry skin.
Very Good For Oily Skin

This is a very good product for my very oily skin. But it does make my skin a little dry. You will need to apply some good moisturizer. I am not very sure if this is helping with my scars but in combination with the Life flo Rosehip seed oil my scars has definitely faded.
