Rainbow Henna Coats each hair's shaft with color. Smooths and seals the hair's cuticle for greater shine. Texturizes hair and gives it body. Blends naturally. Fades gradually. Lasts 4-6 weeks.
Henna is an alternative to chemical hair colorings that are controversial to health considerations. Henna comes from small shrubs, called Lawsonia, that are native to the Middle East, West Asia, and North Africa. The leaves are dried and then pulverized to a fine powder. Rainbow chooses only the finest grade Henna.
Pour 4 oz (1 cup) Rainbow Henna into a glass or plastic bowl. Gradually add 1 cup boiling water. Use a wooden or plastic spoon to mix thoroughly to a creamy consistency. (More liquid can be added if mixture is too thick.) For Rainbow Neutral Henna, mix 2 oz (1/2 cup) with 1 cup boiling water.
Light brown henna - cassia obovata, lawsonia inermis, indigofereae.
For external use only.
Store in a cool, dry place. Filled by weight. Do not use in the area of the eye or if scalp has open cuts. Not for use on bleached or white hair. A strand test should be done if hair is over 10% grey.
I must say that even though it was a huge mess to apply it and to rinse it out, my hair looks incredible. My hair is naturally curly and with a light brown base and golden and almost white highlights, very dry, brittle, dull and unhealthy looking, after trying everything there is to recover the life of my curls I gave this product a try, and I must say that I love it, my hair is shinny, less dry and much more improved. I follow all the steps, I even mixed it with the tea, vinegar and olive oil as recommended. Highly approved by me .
WASTE OF MONEY!!
WASTE OF MONEY!!
Do not BUY! I followed the directions and applied it to my hair. I left it on for an hour under a plastic bag and BOY was it torture trying to wash out. It sticks to your hair like glue and leaves chunks of gritty residue that is impossible to rinse out completely. It did NOTHING for my hair and was a true mess. I had to clean my bathroom for weeks. Such a disappointment!
Not suitable for my scalp

I bought this light brown color to try after I had a good experience with the medium brown henna. But I realized light brown henna has an extra ingredient (total 3 ingredients) compared to medium brown henna (which has only 2 ingredients). The 1st time I added hot filtered coffee, apple cider vinegar & olive oil to the henna mix but had a terrible irritated & itching scalp with some rash after I washed it off (also had quite a lot of hair loss). Then I thought it was the vinegar. After 1 month when it was time for me to color my hair again, I omitted the vinegar, adding only hot English breakfast tea and olive oil to the mixture. Though the color coated my white strands very well, I still encounter lots of hair fall during washing with irritated inflamed itchy scalp after that. This has not happened when I used the medium brown henna. The same day, I gave my mother medium brown henna mixed with English breakfast tea and olive oil. She didn't experience any inflamed irritated itchy scalp. She likes it very much and because her hair is almost all white, the medium brown color is very nice on her hair. She likes it. This light brown henna is not suitable for sensitive scalp like mine. My sister was complaining to me that the light brown henna makes her hair fall too. We won't be buying light brown henna anymore.

shiny soft hair

I love how my hair looks after using this. Ok, so this is henna. It is messy, it feels like you put mud on your hair and it is difficult to rinse. That's to be expected. Having said that, my hair looks so shiny and feels so silky, it's totally worth it. And there's no toxic chemicals!! I have long, thick, medium brown hair. I used the whole container, mixed with black tea. My hair felt a bit too thick (I do have a lot of hair though) right after application. It started to look and feel great after two or three washes. the herbal smell also stayed with me for a couple of washes. I don't have any greys, so I can't say anything about that. I think this is darker than light brown, it's more like a medium brown. If I look at my hair in the sun, I can see a bit of red, but nothing too extreme. It's been about 2 weeks since I applied it and my hair has never felt or looked better. I have wavy hair, and it's also less frizzy and slightly straighter. And it looks so shiny!! I already repurchased. I plan on using this every two months or so.

I've never used henna, so didn't know what to expect. ...it's really good. I have light brown hair, so I didn't notice the difference. But need to say that after usage of this henna, my hair is far more shiny. Love it!

I'm probably the only one here who didn't find the process of applying henna messy at all! I mixed it with green tea and added a bit of yogurt because I have dry hair. I applied it on damp and lightly oiled hair (with coconut oil). My natural hair color is ashy brown and this henna gave my hair a bit of yellowish color which faded after a couple of washes, but I was left with lovely golden highlights afterwards. My hair also felt much sleeker and softer.
