I love my Beauty Blender however if anything lets it down, it's the cost of it. I love using my Beauty Blender for applying my makeup as it gives such a flawless finish so was super excited when Real Techniques released the Complexion Sponge. I've used this for a week now and find it a great alternative to the Beauty Blender. The great thing about this is the shape of it which makes it easy to manoeuvre around the face. The Beauty Blender is a lot more soft and porous than this sponge which is a plus as well as a negative as what it means that in the Beauty Blender a lot of my makeup ends up being soaked into the sponge. The good thing about the Real Techniques one is that as its not as porous the makeup will only sink in a little and not completely so right into the middle of the sponge. I would definitely recommend this sponge to others as it is just as good or even better than the Beauty Blender. I will definitely be repurchasing :)
Although this product has great reviews on iHerb, on other forums are not so satisfied with it. Despite of that I decided to buy it and test it myself because I trusted video provided. It looked as quality sponge. Unfortunately it is completely unusable. It soaks up most of product (foundation). But what's most wrong with it is that it doesn't provide nice coverage as simple brush or bare fingers or other (low cost) sponges. It's also hard to clean, it seems like it is impossible to get all foundation out of it - despite of all cleaning with products for that purpose it still has foundation coloured spots. What's bothering me most is that I wanted to buy set of Real Techniques brushes, but now I am suspicious that other their products are as bad as this.

My makeup looks flawless every time I apply it with this sponge. I don't understand the bad comments regarding this product. You have to learn how to work with it if you want your makeup to look flawless. First, wet the sponge really well, then squeeze it gently. It won't break if you're gentle (it's a sponge after all). Then apply your favorite concealer/foundation and you now have flawless skin. It's also easy to clean with warm water and liquid soap ( unless you use it with Revlon's Colorstay Foundation wich will ruin every brush/sponge you use with it ) so in my honest opinion, it's a bargain for how well it performs. I tried lots of different buffing brushes, from Zoella to Real Techniques, and also other sponges, but nothing ever made my face makeup blend as easily as this one and look so freackin flawless. I love it and you'll love it too!
